This notice describes how protected health information (PHI) may be used and disclosed by Red Fox Medical Courier and Redfox Delivery Services, and how you can access this information. Please review it carefully.

Who We Are

Red Fox Medical Courier and Redfox Delivery Services are Business Associates as defined under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA). We provide secure, HIPAA-compliant medical courier and logistics services on behalf of healthcare providers (Covered Entities), such as hospitals, pharmacies, laboratories, and medical offices.

We do not create or manage medical records. We receive limited health information only as required to perform our delivery services on behalf of these Covered Entities.

Our Legal Duties

As Business Associates, we are required by law to:
- Protect the privacy and security of PHI we receive from Covered Entities.
- Use or disclose PHI only as permitted or required by our contracts and by law.
- Follow the terms of this Notice and notify Covered Entities in the event of a breach of unsecured PHI.

How We Use and Disclose PHI

We may receive or handle PHI for the following purposes:
- Logistics Support: To transport medical specimens, prescriptions, patient records, or durable medical equipment.
- Healthcare Operations: As instructed by the Covered Entity for services such as audits or logistics tracking.
- Business Operations: For internal operations such as billing or compliance audits—only when necessary and allowed by contract.

We do not use PHI for marketing, sales, or unrelated commercial purposes. We do not maintain your medical records, nor do we make decisions regarding your healthcare.

Your Rights

As a patient, you have rights under HIPAA, including:
- The right to access and receive copies of your medical records (from your healthcare provider—not from us).
- The right to request corrections to your PHI (through your healthcare provider).
- The right to file a complaint if you believe your privacy rights have been violated.

You should direct all such requests and concerns to your healthcare provider.

Breach Notification

If we discover a breach of unsecured PHI, we are required to notify the Covered Entity promptly. The Covered Entity is responsible for notifying you, as appropriate, per federal HIPAA regulations.

Security Measures

We maintain administrative, physical, and technical safeguards in compliance with HIPAA Security Rule requirements. This includes:
- Encryption of digital records
- Secure handling and transfer of medical items
- Staff training in HIPAA compliance and confidentiality

Third-Party Services

We may use third-party vendors or subcontractors who are also required to protect PHI through signed Business Associate Agreements. These vendors may only use PHI as necessary to provide services on our behalf.
